As a result of our 4th Annual Matthew Mayo Cornhole Tournament, we were able to raise $44,000 for the Matthew Mayo Scholarship Fund. This year we are proud to announce to announce 6 individuals were awarded scholarships.
Vanessa Velez of Wilson
Vanessa will be attending Nash Community College in hopes of being an Art Teacher. She is a 2022 graduate of Southern Nash High School.

Valerie Velez of Wilson
Valerie will be attending Nash Community College studying Health Science. Her goal is to attend Medical School and become a Doctor. She is a 2022 graduate of Southern Nash High School.

Lorelei Ferguson of Wilson
Lorelei will be attending University of North Carolina majoring in Psychology. Lorelei plans to be an Occupational Therapist and work with disabled children. She is a 2022 graduate of Community Christian School.

Kaley Gesell of Wilson
Kaley will be attending North Carolina State University entering the Exploratory Studies program. Kaley is a 2022 graduate from James Hunt High School, Matthew’s alma mater.

Alexis Winborne of Wilson
Alexis will be attending North Carolina State University to major in Elementary Education with a minor in Psychology. She plans to further her education by attending East Carolina University to obtain her Master Degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Alexis is a 2022 graduate from James Hunt High School, Matthew’s alma mater.

Kaylee Bulla of Vanceboro
Kaylee will be attending East Carolina University and major in Education. Kaylee is a 2022 graduate from Charles B Aycock High School.
